#academics I have a question about starting the #PhD search process. I finished my undergrad almost 12 years ago, and have ideas that go in a completely different direction. So I'm not sure where/how to start.
The suggestions I've gotten have been mostly to write up a short intro-history-proposal email and send to people currently doing stuff that's interesting/related.
Other ideas? Anyone have experience with something similar?
@bouncinglime I highly recommend reading this book (or at least watching his interviews) before signing on for a long PhD program:

Science is exceedingly useful, even if we don't get the future we grew up expecting.
