Today is my first day at truss.works

Very dreamy, A++, would onboard again.

Do I know anyone looking for software dev positions who can at least visit the bay area occasionally?

Spent the weekend with an old friend from Virginia. Had looooong, in-depth conversations with folk about fulcrums for inequity (including the effects of affirmative action and marriage on the here and now), gender & sexuality & race. Thinking warmly of my time with Cultivate the Karass.

Also we had a low boil that was AMAZING and there was a very inquisitive puppy.

I received the most delightful expectation-setting email for a summit I'm facilitating - introduces everyone, covers their role, sets rules for email exchanges, and has lots of emojis. Be still my process-based heart.

Thinking about that time I got so enthusiastic at someone about Seattle that they left their life behind to move there. And had a really rough time of things (like maybe nearly homeless at one point?). But now are super happy, fulfilled, and sustainable there.

...use your powers responsibly, kids. I know I haven't always.

Reading Elinor Ostrom in bed on a Saturday night. I love being an adult.

Remember that time half(ish) of my TBP collection was so heavy it broke an IKEA shelf? Me, too! spanner.works/media/olNikHcoho

Plowing through a concept note so I can go on a motorcycle BnB trip with one of my sweeties. Life ain't so bad.

Anyone know of any tabletop/board games that are explicitly about promoting emotional awareness and could be played with groups of third graders in a reasonably short time frame?

Out of the Fog Of Eternal Darkness, and most other things are easier but this book proposal is still hard.

Just had a delightful conversation with Veda about knowledge structures, empowered tasking, data journalism, and attention cycles. The return to my Self continues in earnest.

"People trying to comment on articles will now be forced to prove they understand what it's about.

That's at least at Norwegian broadcaster NRK's website, which will present people who want to leave comments with a quiz that asks them about what the story is actually about."

This is pure genius.

Kenya had an election today. There were serious, grounded concerns about related violence. So far, not only has this not happened, but polling stations seem to have been run better than in much of the US.
Of course, most non-Kenyan media won't bother reporting this unless it changes for the worse, so here: enjoy the mundanity of an election running smoothly enough to not make world news

Sitting in a cafe in a small Holland town, drinking decaf and listening to the rain. Also maybe writing that thing I've been procrastinating on. Oh look, Mastodon!
